About the job SAP PROGRAMME DELIVERY DIRECTOR
The SAP Program Delivery Director will serve as the senior accountable owner for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of a large-scale SAP enterprise transformation program within a government or semi-government organization.
The role demands a seasoned professional with deep technical and functional SAP expertise, a strong command of program governance, and the ability to lead complex, cross-functional teams through the full lifecycle of an enterprise-wide modernization or legacy system replacement initiative.
This is a strategic leadership position requiring the ability to engage at the executive level while maintaining hands-on oversight of delivery operations across all program workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery & Governance
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of large-scale SAP implementation programs, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) environments.
- Establish and maintain robust program governance frameworks, ensuring delivery milestones, risk registers, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Drive enterprise transformation and modernization agendas, including legacy system decommissioning and replacement strategies.
- Apply SAP Activate methodology across all phases of the program, ensuring adherence to best practices and structured delivery principles.
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for program delivery, interfacing directly with senior client stakeholders, executive sponsors, and government representatives.
- Prepare and present program status reports, escalation briefs, and strategic updates to C-suite and director-level audiences.
- Manage stakeholder expectations proactively, ensuring alignment between program objectives and organizational priorities.
Team Leadership
- Direct and manage large, cross-functional delivery teams comprising technical, functional, and business workstreams.
- Foster a high-performance delivery culture across a diverse, multicultural workforce.
- Provide mentorship, direction, and professional development support to team leads and senior consultants.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, assess, and manage program-level risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to protect delivery timelines and outcomes.
- Escalate critical issues to appropriate governance bodies in a timely and structured manner.
Mandatory Experience Requirements
- Proven and successful track record in delivering large-scale SAP implementation and/or legacy conversion programs at an enterprise level.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional delivery teams and managing complex multi-workstream programs.
- Direct prior experience working on government or semi-government projects is a strict requirement.
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise transformation, system modernization, and legacy replacement methodologies and frameworks.
Preferred Experience & Attributes
While not a prerequisite for consideration, the following will be viewed favorably during the evaluation process:
- Prior experience delivering programs within the defense sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large cross-functional teams of 50 or more individuals across technical and functional disciplines.
- Proven capability to communicate and present effectively at senior executive and C-suite level, including ministerial or government authority stakeholders.
- Confirmed ability to operate and lead effectively within a diverse, multicultural environment.
Proficiency in Arabic is strongly preferred. Full professional proficiency in English is required.
