The Senior Civil & Structural Engineer will be responsible for executing civil and structural engineering activities during the Engineering phase, including FEED and Detailed Engineering, for oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective civil and structural design solutions in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute civil and structural engineering activities during the FEED and Detailed Engineering phases of oil and gas projects.
  • Develop, review, and prepare civil and structural engineering deliverables, including design calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and material requisitions.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures, including pipe racks, equipment foundations, platforms, control buildings, substations, shelters, and industrial facilities.
  • Design and review foundations for static and rotating equipment, storage tanks, vessels, and other process facilities.
  • Prepare and review grading, drainage, roadworks, underground utilities, and site development designs.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, client specifications, and international codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocodes, ASCE, and relevant industry practices.
  • Coordinate with process, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and architectural disciplines to ensure seamless integration of civil and structural designs.
  • Review vendor drawings and technical documentation related to equipment foundations, structures, and civil interfaces.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Identify engineering risks and propose practical solutions to optimize safety, constructability, cost, and project schedules.
  • Review and guide the work of junior engineers and designers to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables are completed within project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, with extensive expertise in FEED and Detailed Engineering for oil and gas projects.
  • Strong experience in the design and analysis of steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, equipment foundations, pipe racks, control buildings, and industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD. Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of international codes and standards including ACI, AISC, ASCE, BS, Eurocodes, and client-specific standards.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering civil and structural engineering solutions for large-scale EPC oil and gas projects.
  • Experience in reviewing vendor documents, technical specifications, and multidisciplinary engineering deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of constructability, foundation engineering, site development, and structural integrity requirements.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
