Regional Director
Job Description:
Purpose:
The Regional Director works with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to enhance staff
creativity and employee satisfaction to ultimately create a more positive and rewarding
patient experience. This individual serves as the primary liaison between
physicians/providers, staff, and patients. The Regional Director must be willing to operate in
a fast-paced environment, and handle operational and expansion activities simultaneously.
The primary pillars of the position consist of (1) managing daily operations, and (2) staff
management and human resources.Essential Job Functions:
(1) Managing Daily Operations
o Provides dynamic leadership and direction to company physicians and
staff to create systemic and streamlined patient services in a variety of healthcare
settings
o Establishes collegial and productive relationships with referring physicians, which
form the foundation of trust and credibility for program development.
o Ensures efficient execution of clinical SOPs and supervision of program manager
duties
o Disseminates new policies and ensures adherence to preexisting clinical procedures
and rules
o Creates a process for measuring, accessing, tracking, and reporting clinical
operations
o Creates and disseminates educational materials to staff and patients
o Oversees outreach efforts with community organizations, drug courts, and other
substance abuse spaces while strategically planning for clinical growth and business
development
o Maintains knowledge of current research and technology as it pertains to addiction,
mental health, and primary care
o Manages all vendors and contracts, and communicates with third-party services for
daily clinical operations
o Primary point-of-contact for physician and provider credentialing and insurance
network management Develops and executes an incident reporting protocol and
educates staff members on standardized adverse event procedures.
o Well-versed in business software solutions and integrates new technology to
facilitate daily taskso Collaborates with operational management to facilitate nursing care and physician-
nursing operational issues. Participates in data review and analysis of operationaland outcomes metrics.(2) Managing Staff/ Human Resources
o Ensures that physicians, providers, and employees reimbursements are accurate
and dispersed in a timely manner
o With the assistance of program managers, oversees staff training for current and
prospective clinical roles.
o In coordination with the CFO, manages staff salaries, daily operating expenses, and
maintains accountability of revenue and spending
o Hires new staff members, and conducts performance reviews and evaluations of
current staff
o With the Compliance Manager, communicates outstanding provider and physicians
requirements
o Develops monthly staffing matrices for various clinic sights
o Supervises staff individual readiness by ensuring that all staff member are resourced
according to their job descriptions, tasks, and roles
o Establishes tasks, standards, and conditions for every staff member and constructs
a disciplinary process for employee accountability.
o Reviews, investigates and makes appropriate dispositions regarding all complaints
and queries concerning contracted physicians
Qualifications:
o Bachelors in Business Management, MBA, or other professional degree related to
health care preferred
o Five years’ minimum experience managing a physician group or an equivalent
leadership role with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
o Experience in human resources and developing standard operating procedures for a
clinical setting.
