Primary Therapist/Clinical Supervisor
We are currently seeking a full-time substance abuse counselor for our expanding addiction treatment facility located in Silver Spring, Maryland. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and creative counselor who wants to be involved in the development of the program as we grow. Our integrative approach combines meditation and mindfulness instruction and practice with traditional group and individual therapy to provide a holistic and personalized program of treatment and recovery. The successful candidate may also provide clinical review and/or supervision as needed.
The counselor is responsible for performing client care activities as directed by the programs Clinical Director. He/she provides group and individual therapy and collaborates with the Treatment Team in the formulation of the Master Treatment Plan and Discharge Plan. The counselor documents a client interactions using the EHR according to the programs timetable.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
LCSW, LCPC, LCADC
Education -
Master's Degree
SUMMARY OF WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understanding ASAM selection criteria. Applying CBT in Individual and group therapy.
Demonstrate ability to effectively engage clients with substance abuse issues.
Demonstrate ability to understand medication assisted treatment.Provide individual, family and group counseling sessions with focus on addiction related topics.
Responsible for intakes and assessments, problem identification, treatment planning, recording progress notes, and developing discharge plans, review of continuing care plans.
Responsible for maintaining contact with referral sources and other agencies involved in client care (i.e. criminal justice system and housing programs).
Completion of progress notes with signatures and proper time documentation.
Must be able to:
- Provide effective substance abuse treatment.
- Maintains case documentation and tracking.
- Collaborates with primary care providers and referring agencies.
- Provides outreach, linkage and/or reports to health, social, legal and funding departments and agencies as required.
