Clinical Counselor
Job Description:
Job Summary – This position provides clinical services to adults with identified mental health or substance use diagnosis.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provided clinical services such as assessments, individual and group counseling, case management, and crisis intervention services
- Completes diagnostic assessment, crisis and safety plan, treatment plan, service notes, transition and discharge plan, in a timely/accurate manner
- Maintains accurate and complete clinical record for each client served under Quality Improvement and billing standards.
- Assists in program development and planning as assigned
- Keeps abreast of community resources, educate clients about resources, makes appropriate referrals as needed to meet client needs
Counselor Requirements and Qualifications:
- Possesses superb written and spoken communication skills
- Collaborates and coordinates with other staff and service providers involved in client care in the community
- Excellent time management skills; organized and able to prioritize
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple clients
- Able to organize and manage large amounts of files, schedules, dates, and information
- Encourages community-based "Wellness and Recovery Action Plan"
- Self-directed and self-motivated and dedicated to helping others
Licensure or Certification Requirements:
- LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, MFT, IMFT, LCDC II, LCDC III, LICDC
