Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II

Location: Twinsburg, Ohio.

Position Responsibilities:

Engineer mechanical components and subassemblies for rotating machinery to satisfy customer specifications and targeted performance objectives, working under the guidance of a lead engineer

Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings, and perform supporting analyses such as tolerance accumulation, bearing load calculations, and preload assessments

Ensure designs comply with company requirements and applicable industry standards, including GD&T and design-for-manufacturability principles

Serve as a technical contributor in design, manufacturing, and test reviews by evaluating designs, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions

Execute assigned tasks in alignment with approved budgets and project schedules

Review customer requirements and contribute to technical proposals, cost estimates, test plans, process qualification documents, bills of materials, schedules, and engineering reports as needed

Proactively identify and resolve technical issues affecting current products or new development efforts

Maintain clear, timely communication with peers and leadership regarding technical progress, challenges, and potential risks

Assist with testing and validation activities for both new and existing products, with oversight from senior engineering staff

Follow established safety practices and actively support continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental initiatives

Support occasional domestic and international travel (typically once per quarter)

Be available for extended or off-hour work during peak project phases when required

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in mechanical design within a product development and manufacturing environment

Technical Skills and Competencies:

Hands-on experience designing rotating machinery such as motors, generators, or similar systems

Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including proper application of GD&T

Sound engineering judgment across multiple mechanical disciplines

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and customers

Well-developed organizational, documentation, and reporting skills

Proficiency in developing 3D CAD models and 2D drawings

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools

Familiarity with common shop and inspection tools, including measurement equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience designing bearing systems and wound components

Knowledge of rotor dynamics principles

Familiarity with oil and air cooling approaches for rotating equipment

Exposure to aerospace standards such as DO-160, ARP4754A, and ARP4761

Experience using CATIA
