Job Title: AUDIO DSP SPECIALIST
Location: Palo Alto, CA.
Position: 6-month Contract to Hire.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Audio DSP Engineer to join our In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) audio development team for electric vehicle platforms. The role will focus on real-time audio signal processing, particularly voice communication / ECNR and audio post-processing.
This is a hands-on engineering role. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in developing, integrating, debugging, tuning, and validating audio algorithms on an embedded production platform.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Development of audio processing stack: Drive the implementation and optimization of the infortainment audio software stack.
- Develop and integrate voice communication and voice recognition solutions for IVI (In-vehicle infotainment) platforms.
- Work closely with HW engineers and the system integration team to ensure tight integration and that the audio stack meets high-quality standards.
- Work closely with QA team to perform comprehensive testing, debugging, and validation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ( MUST HAVE)
- Audio DSP: Strong hands-on development experience with speech and microphone-array signal processing algorithms. Experience with several of the following components is expected:
- Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC)
- Adaptive Beamforming: MVDR or similar techniques
- Noise Reduction (NR)
- Residual Echo Suppression (RES)
- Voice Activity Detection (VAD)
- Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
- Wind noise reduction
- Directional of Arrival (DoA) estimation
- Speech enhancement
Experience may include( Good to Have)
- Traditional DSP / statistical signal-processing algorithms
- Deep Learning / Neural Network based speech enhancement
- Hybrid DSP + ML solutions
- Audio Post-Processing: Hands-on experience developing or integrating real-time audio playback and post-processing pipelines, including:
- Audio mixing / routing
- Volume / Gain control
- Mute / ducking
- Channel mapping
- Equalization
- Audio filtering
- Sample rate conversion, etc.
- ALSA / Linux Audio: Strong understanding of Linux audio architecture, particulary ALSA
- Real-time Audio SW Development experience: Strong C/C++ software development experience with real-time audio processing systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Commercialization experience: Voice communication and/or Voice recognition features
- Automotive / IVI Experience – Strong Plus: Experience developing audio systems for automotive or IVI platforms is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with DSP Concepts Audio Weaver (AWE) is highly desirable.
- Experience with acoustic measurement, tuning, and validation equipment and tools: HATS, HEAD acoustics, Audio Precision
