Job Description:

  • Creating powertrain models using GT power, MATLAB/Simulink, and similar simulation tools.
  • Developing software in the loop models for software verification and development.
  • Collaborate with technology engineers who own the software functionality and components. You will work together to optimize the design using simulation.
  • Interfacing with new product development projects to provide simulation results for concept selection.
  • Interfacing with the maintenance organization to provide simulations results to solve product quality problems.
  • Implementing improvement and new features into the production software/simulation environment.
  • Conducting tests in the laboratory and/or field to acquire data needed for simulation development and validation.
  • Documenting simulation development, validation, and results in engineering report.
  • Communicating results to project, technical teams, and management.
  • Conducting data analysis on both production and test data. Assisting with overflow work in this area is a possible task depending on your background.

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or similar technical field required.
  • Masters degree in technical field strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years relevant powertrain development experience.
  • Experience in internal combustion engine development and optimization is preferred.
  • Proficient in GT power, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar tools.
  • Experience with programming for data analysis using SQL, Python, R, MATLAB, Apache spark or equivalent language is preferred.
  • Understand of diesel engine calibration process. This includes combustion and after treatment control is a plus.
  • Understanding of OBD monitor development is a plus.
  • Experience in electric or fuel cell powertrains is a plus.
