Job Overview:

A Paramedic EMT is the junior member of a two-person ambulance crew and supports the doctor or nurse medic. A Paramedic EMT is typically one of the first healthcare professionals to arrive at the scene of an emergency. Duties of the job include:

Driving and staffing ambulances and other emergency vehicles

Conducting daily shift vehicle and medical stock audits

Keeping an accurate record in the ambulance log book

Keeping the vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition

Responding to emergency calls

Assists in stabilizing and assessing patients

Providing emergency treatment; monitoring, assists in providing pain relief and intravenous infusions

Dressing wounds/injuries

Using specialist equipment including AEDs and defibrillators

Transporting patients to hospital and continuing to assist in providing treatment while in transit

Communicating effectively with patients and their relatives/friends

teaching and training members of the public to use first aid

techniques correctly

Maintaining a clean driving license with no traffic violations



Qualifications:

- Completion of a recognized Emergency Medical Technology

Paramedic Program from a local or international college or university

- Bachelor degree in EMT-Paramedic is an advantage

- Two (2) years post registration experience to include two (2) years of emergency room or industrial clinic.

- Current SCfHS registration, MoH medical license and home country registration and license to practice

- Valid Saudi Ambulance Driving License with no outstanding traffic violations

- Fluent in spoken and written English

- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Saudi Heart Association (SHA), First Aid, BLS and ACLS with at least six (6) months before the stated expiry date on the date of mobilisation

- Valid National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, (NAEMT) PHTLS with at least twelve (12) months before the stated expiry date on the date of mobilisation
