Position: Poultry Farmer / Poultry (AI) Technician

Our employer client is a leading agricultural company based in Australia. Their farm is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and they are constantly striving to improve our farming practices to ensure the health and welfare of their birds.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Poultry Farmer to join the team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our poultry farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our birds, and maintaining high standards of production.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the care and management of all poultry on the farm, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and welfare

- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the farm to prevent the spread of diseases

- Implement and maintain biosecurity measures to ensure the health and safety of the birds

- Monitor and maintain the temperature, humidity, and ventilation levels in the poultry houses

- Keep accurate records of bird numbers, feed consumption, and production levels

- Identify and address any issues or concerns with the birds, such as disease outbreaks or behavioral problems

- Schedule and oversee the vaccination and medication of the birds as needed

- Operate and maintain farm equipment, such as feeders, waterers, and ventilation systems

- Work closely with other team members to ensure the smooth running of the farm operations

- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and implement new technologies and techniques to improve farm efficiency and productivity

- Adhere to all safety and biosecurity protocols at all times

- Other duties as assigned by the farm manager

Required Qualification & Work Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Animal Husbandry and/or Veterinary Medicine
• At least 3 years of recent and relevant experience in a medium-to-large commercial farm
• Applicants with no relevant education must have at least 5 years experience.

​Other Skills:

- Ability to work with a team and/or independently with less supervision

- Good communication skills

- With a good English test score is an advantage (minimum PTE score 36 or IELTS 5.0)

- Experience in Canada, Japan, Demark, USA and New Zealand is an advantage

- Must have a valid Driver's license

- Knowledge of poultry husbandry, nutrition, and health management

- Strong understanding of biosecurity protocols and procedures

- Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment

- Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills

- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in all weather conditions

- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
