Job Openings Mango Farm Worker - Intake 2

About the job Mango Farm Worker - Intake 2

We require mangos workers for the upcoming mango season in the Northern Territory, such as: Acacia Hills Farm, NT Quail Farm,...

It is usual for the best harvest workers to be kept by farmers for post-harvest activities like pruning. This can last for another 4 weeks. We also have a PR pathway for workers with suitable background.

The Mango harvest starts in Darwin usually early-mid September, then the Katherine (300ks south of Darwin) harvest begins in October - November and finally the Mataranka (100ks south of Katherine) harvest starts mid-late November and finishes in December.

We also anticipate being able to redistribute workers to other farms or other states after the mango season is ended.

Working time: From 8 to 24+ weeks. Priority is given to candidates who want to work long term.

Jobs for workers will include: Picking, packing, stacking, sticker labelling, pallet jack operators as well as cleaning either inside the shed or in the field.

Packing role:

Workers are designated a particular spot on the line to pack the mangoes.

Some workers are given the job of stacking boxes.

The packing machine sorts the mangoes into sizes and then workers will pack that sized mango into the tray/box.

Some workers are given the job of grading mangoes this is to take out any mango which isnt suitable to pack / bruised or marked.

Picking role:
