Our client is a fast-growing, licensed cross-border payment service provider operating in over 70 markets globally. Their platform enables merchants to collect payments locally via local payment methods, virtual accounts, and cards without the need to establish local entities. This results in lower transaction costs, FX transparency, and higher authorization rates. The company is backed by leading investors and is expanding its presence in Japan.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Growth Manager with a strong background in payments and a proven track record in consultative enterprise sales. The ideal candidate will have experience selling payment solutions to enterprise clients in Japan and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales and business development strategies to drive revenue growth in Japan

  • Build and maintain relationships with enterprise clients, partners, and key stakeholders

  • Leverage existing networks in Japan to generate new business opportunities

  • Understand client needs and position cross-border payment solutions effectively

  • Present solutions and value propositions to senior stakeholders

  • Negotiate commercial agreements and close deals

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Compliance, Operations, Customer Success)

  • Track pipeline, provide updates, and report on market trends and competition

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Growth roles within fintech, payments, or financial services

  • Strong knowledge of cross-border payments and fintech solutions

  • Understanding of Japan's regulatory environment in payments and financial services

  • Existing network in Japan across enterprises, fintechs, banks, or PSPs

  • Ability to work independently and drive results

  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience managing long enterprise sales cycles

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA is a plus)
