JOB PURPOSE
The CCTV Operator is responsible for monitoring the hotel's CCTV surveillance systems to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff members, visitors, and hotel property. The CCTV Operator continuously monitors live and recorded footage, identifies and reports suspicious or unusual activities, and maintains accurate records of incidents. The role requires a high level of concentration, confidentiality, professionalism, and effective communication with the Security Department and other relevant departments.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Follow Divan standards, policies, and SOPs at all times.
- Maintain personal hygiene and a professional appearance at all times.
- Be present on duty in a clean and immaculate uniform.
- Monitor all CCTV cameras and surveillance systems continuously and attentively.
- Ensure that CCTV cameras are functioning properly and report any technical issues or malfunctions immediately.
- Monitor hotel entrances, exits, public areas, back-of-house areas, parking areas, and other designated locations.
- Identify and report suspicious, unusual, or unauthorized activities to the Security Supervisor/Manager immediately.
- Monitor security incidents and provide accurate information to the Security team when required.
- Review recorded CCTV footage when requested for investigations or security-related incidents.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding CCTV footage, security incidents, and all information obtained through surveillance systems.
- Ensure that CCTV recordings and other surveillance information are handled securely and only accessed by authorized personnel.
- Maintain an accurate CCTV monitoring log, including incidents, observations, equipment issues, and other relevant information.
- Record and report all unusual incidents, accidents, thefts, unauthorized access, or suspicious behavior.
- Immediately inform the Security Supervisor/Manager of any noteworthy incident or condition.
- Assist the Security team during emergencies, including fire, theft, accidents, suspicious activities, bomb threats, and other security-related incidents.
- Monitor emergency situations through CCTV and provide relevant information to the Security team and management.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the hotel's layout, facilities, entrances, exits, restricted areas, and key security points.
- Maintain a complete understanding of emergency procedures and strictly follow established protocols.
- Communicate effectively with Security Officers, Security Supervisors, the Security Manager, and other departments when necessary.
- Contact the Security Manager/Supervisor in situations not covered by established instructions or whenever clarification is required.
- Ensure that all CCTV monitoring activities comply with hotel policies, security procedures, and applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Conduct proper handover at the end of each shift, including communicating ongoing incidents, observations, and equipment issues to the incoming operator.
- Maintain a professional, alert, and attentive approach throughout the entire shift.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and other hotel departments.
- Perform any other duties related to security and surveillance as assigned by the Security Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CCTV Operator, Security Officer, or in a similar security surveillance role.
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Good knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems and surveillance equipment.
- Ability to identify suspicious behavior and respond appropriately to security incidents.
- Good command of English is required; knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to operate CCTV monitoring and recording systems.
- Strong observation and concentration skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a pleasant personality are required.
- Honest, trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Very energetic, flexible, and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Fully conversant with health, safety, security, and emergency procedures.
- Able to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
- Willing to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and long hours when required.
