Data Engineer

A leading multi-strategy hedge fund in central London seeks a highly skilled Python Data Engineer to spearhead the development of an automated data platform, enhancing alpha generation and exploration.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with traders and quantitative researchers to identify data requirements and design data pipelines supporting research and trading activities.
• Develop and maintain data infrastructure using Python and associated technologies.
• Establish and manage data processing workflows, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing solutions.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to develop models and algorithms for generating alpha signals.
• Monitor and uphold data quality, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Continuously assess and optimize data infrastructure to accommodate new data sources, research methodologies, and trading strategies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in developing data infrastructure using Python and related technologies.
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and databases.
• Preferable experience with distributed computing, such as Kafka.
• Experience working with quantitative researchers and traders is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and adeptness in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
