A leading international mining contractor is seeking an experienced and driven Underground Mining Manager to oversee full underground operations on a key project in Africa. This is a senior leadership role requiring deep experience in stoping and development within hard rock environments, with a strong contractor mindset.

What you will do

Manage all underground mining activities including stoping and development

Lead production to meet or exceed targets without compromising safety or standards

Uphold the highest level of HSE compliance across site operations

Take ownership of budgets and cost control

Guide and mentor a multicultural workforce with a focus on accountability and results

Work closely with technical teams to align short and long term mine plans

Solve operational issues quickly to avoid delays and losses

Identify opportunities for improved processes and technology adoption
What we are looking for

Strong underground mining background with focus on stoping and hard rock

Proven leadership experience in expatriate roles across remote or high pressure sites

Contractor mining experience is essential

Deep understanding of underground methods, systems and equipment

Solid track record of meeting production goals while maintaining cost and safety performance

Confident communicator who can lead diverse teams

Familiar with mine planning systems and data driven decision making

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent
