About the job Head of Exploration - Regional
We are representing a well-funded junior mining exploration company with a significant gold project in North America. The company is looking for a Head of Exploration to lead and drive the exploration strategy for the entire portfolio of assets, from early-stage exploration through to resource definition.
This leadership role requires a technical expert with a proven ability to oversee multi-site exploration programs and lead large teams. If you have a track record in advancing projects at both the deposit scale and district-scale discovery, and thrive on driving exploration success in a competitive market, this role could be for you.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead exploration activities across North America, advancing gold projects from grassroots to reserve status, with a focus on gold and associated mineralization types
- Develop and implement exploration strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives
- Oversee multi-site exploration budgets and programs, ensuring timely delivery and goal alignment
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring teams to maintain high-quality data and accurate resource estimation
- Report on exploration progress, resource updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Collaborate with operations teams to incorporate exploration insights into corporate and development strategies
- Manage relationships with consultants, contractors, and regulators to ensure compliance and alignment
- Drive exploration programs aimed at discovering new resources and increasing project value
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Around 15-20 years in gold exploration with a proven track record in leading large-scale projects and teams across multiple operating site
- Extensive knowledge of gold mineralization, geological environments, and ore-forming processes
- Demonstrated experience in managing exploration budgets and programs, moving projects from grassroots exploration to resource definition
- Ability to oversee and execute district-scale exploration projects while ensuring optimal quality and efficiency
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting technical information clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders
- Experience with exploration software such as AcQuire, ArcGIS, and Leapfrog, as well as familiarity with regulatory requirements like NI 43-101
- Registered Professional Geologist (or equivalent) with a commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and community engagement
- Willingness to travel significantly in years 1-2 (across North America)
