About the job Government Relations Director
We are excited to announce a newly created opportunity for a Government Relations Director to join our growing team in Quebec.
This critical role will be instrumental in shaping the companys approach to regulatory compliance, government relations, and community engagement as we position ourselves at the forefront of the critical minerals sector. This position is a unique chance to work closely with the CEO as the 2IC, providing strategic oversight in a time of significant company expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full regulatory compliance, including mining and environmental standards, with a focus on critical minerals.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local communities, including Indigenous groups, ensuring collaboration and trust.
- Monitor, analyze, and influence government policies, regulations, and legislation that impact the companys operations at local, regional, and national levels.
- Represent the company at key government meetings, regulatory bodies, and community events, advocating for the companys interests.
- Develop and execute strategies to influence policy changes that align with the companys long-term goals.
- Provide high-level strategic advice on regulatory trends and political landscapes to the senior leadership team.
Key Requirements:
- Fluency in both French and English (essential).
- Proven experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or similar fields (essential).
- Prior experience in the mining sector is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Strong understanding of government processes, regulatory frameworks, and community relations, particularly in Quebec.
- Discretion is critical for this role, as it has not yet been announced internally or externally.
