Production Superintendent - Underground

An established mining company is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent Underground to lead and optimise underground mining operations. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage underground production teams to meet and exceed production targets.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

• Implement, monitor, and optimise operational plans, schedules, and budgets.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost control.

• Provide technical guidance and leadership to supervisors and mining crews.

• Collaborate with technical teams to optimise mine design, drilling, blasting, and backfilling strategies.

• Monitor key performance indicators and identify areas for operational improvement.

• Foster a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to risk management processes.

• Support training and development programs to enhance workforce capability.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering or related field.

• Extensive underground mining experience, including leadership roles.

• Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, equipment, and best practices.

• Proven ability to manage production teams in a high-performance environment.

• Demonstrated safety leadership and regulatory compliance experience.

• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

• Experience with mine planning and scheduling software is advantageous.
