Position: Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Computerized Tomography Technologist to join our team at Direct Recruit Agency. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive salary and benefits.

As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues. You will work closely with radiologists and other medical professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic results.

Key Responsibilities:

-Evening Shift - 8 HRS.
-Collects pertinent medical information and reviews physicians in order to identify the reason for examination and potential contraindications
-Explains procedure to the patient and ensures consent form is signed if required for examination.
-Positions patient, and administers oral or intravenous contrast as required. -- Monitors patient reactions and responds to adverse reactions with emergency procedures as necessary.

- Selects equipment parameters and logs pertinent information.
- Performs scanning procedure. Modifies parameters as required to improve visualization of desired anatomy.
- May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required. Sets up sterile trays
with all supplies and instruments as necessary for procedures. .
- Organizes images, performs the scan, and transfers exam to the PACS system.
- Assists with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and Inpatient areas.
- Responsible for ensuring communication with radiologists regarding. - Acute Stroke patients and certifying compliance with Acute Stroke protocols.
- Enters patient charges into the computer.
- Performs minor maintenance and repairs on Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment. Refers to other problems in the Computerized Tomography (CT) Supervisor.
- Assists in orienting and training personnel as necessary.
- Practices proper safety techniques by hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately report any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor.

Additional Duties/Responsibilities

- In addition to the duties above, the CT/Diagnostic Tech have the following job responsibilities:
- Performs myelograms, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or Sudbury injection of contrast medium. 

- Assists physicians with studies. Delivers intravenous medication under the direct supervision of physicians.

- Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologist. 

- Performs routine radiographic examinations under specific operating instructions and safety standards.

- Perform CT scans on patients as prescribed by physicians

- Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images

- Monitor patients' condition and inform radiologist of any abnormalities

- Maintain accurate records of patient information and imaging results

- Ensure proper functioning of equipment and report any malfunctions

- Follow radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff

- Collaborate with medical team to determine appropriate imaging techniques

- Provide patient education and instructions for procedures

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field

- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

- Minimum of 2- 5  years experience as a CT Technologist

- Knowledge of CT equipment and procedures

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Attention to detail and ability to multitask

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Skills and Certifications [note: bold skills and certification are required]
Graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Registered CT Technologist from ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT)
Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Registry eligible must be registered as a CT technologist within 6 months of the start date.
Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, and physicians.
Ability to insert intravenous catheter.
Basic knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
