Job Description: Project Manager (Sales Track)

Overview:

The Project Manager, Sales (PM) is responsible for driving revenue while maintaining optimal gross margins per project, with a strong focus on nurturing long-term B2B relationships. The PM will work toward both revenue and margin goals, which are tracked regularly. Additionally, the PM will be assigned quarterly priorities aimed at improving personal performance, departmental success, and overall company growth.

Once a project becomes active (sold), the PM ensures seamless execution and exceptional results by facilitating communication between internal teams (Purchasing, Field, Installers) and external clients. The PM is responsible for managing resources efficiently (materials, labor, safety documentation) to guarantee the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the CRM system (Pipedrive) by engaging with General Contractors and following up on projects to secure new work.

Review, manage, and send contracts with notes to the company's General Counsel for approval.

Oversee project awards in the system and manage team coordination for successful project execution (e.g., initiating POs, notifying AR for billing, and scheduling Field Managers for site visits).

Conduct post-win takeoffs to identify savings opportunities and ensure margin improvement (Project Check).

Assist the Accounts Receivable department in collecting balances that are over 60 days old.

Participate in daily standups with Field Managers, weekly work-in-progress (WIP) meetings, sales meetings with the President, and quarterly/annual company meetings.

What You Wont Do:

Coordinate ITBs from clients (handled by a dedicated bid coordinator).

Perform project takeoffs (completed by a team of architects).

Set pricing pre-award (managed by the architect team).

Manage on-site field activities (handled by a Field Manager).

Issue purchase orders or track materials (managed by the Purchasing department).

Manage project billing (handled by the AR department).

Schedule labor for installation (handled by the full-time field team).

Expectations:

Proactively learn about the entire process of the trade.

Build strong relationships with both teammates and clients; you are the frontline of communication.

Consistently meet or exceed weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.

Actively participate in team initiatives, bringing innovative ideas and solutions.

Ensure timely project delivery while being a reliable construction partner.

Measures of Success:

Generate a minimum of $500k revenue per quarter after six months of employment.

Achieve margin increases on all projects from budgeted to closed.

Ensure no more than 35% of billed revenue remains in the 60-90 days AR aging report.

Maintain an adjusted gross margin of 21%+ on each project.

Qualifications:

Required: Minimum of 2 years experience in the commercial flooring/tile industry, with supervisory, project management, or sales experience.

Required: Established contacts with General Contractors, such as Project Managers, Project Executives, or VPs, responsible for releasing projects to subcontractors.

Preferred: 1 year of B2B sales experience in any industry.

Required: Proficiency in takeoff abilities for flooring and/or ceramic using RFMS Measure.

PMP Preferred.
