Role Overview:
The Accountant/Accounting Manager at DIME is responsible for managing all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, and providing financial insights to support business growth. This role includes overseeing accounting operations, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Chief Operations Officer (COO) with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements on a regular basis.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and oversee all accounting entries, ensuring proper documentation and classification of transactions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic planning.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company maintains optimal liquidity for operational needs.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). Coordinate with external auditors during audits and prepare all required documentation.
- Tax Management: Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to avoid penalties.
- Cost Control: Work closely with the COO to analyze costs and implement financial controls to optimize profitability.
- Payroll Oversight: Manage the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees and adherence to local labor laws.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, financial reporting, and internal controls, leveraging technology where possible.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring the accounting team is equipped to handle growth and increasing complexity.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Masters degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Professional Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) certification required.
- Experience: 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role, preferably within the fintech, technology, or financial services industries.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and financial reporting tools. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of local and international accounting regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, growing company.
- Communication: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role, and based on the candidate's location, they may be required to attend the office in person on a mutually agreed-upon schedule.
