Cloud Platform Engineer
Job Description:
Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) brings together a diverse, knowledgeable group of experts across OUR COMPANY Group to develop best practices in cloud application and adoption for the rest of the organization to follow. The CCoE defines the cloud strategy for OUR COMPANY Group, develops centralized cloud platform and standards in cloud adoption with scalable and federated policies, frameworks, procedures, and reference architectures the organization's app/dev and infrastructure teams can follow as they migrate applications and infrastructure to the cloud, while ensuring cloud security and compliance.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be critical in the CCoE to help develop the capabilities
and services to our internal customers, which are business and technologies teams across all
markets in OUR COMPANY Group.In collaboration with stakeholders, you will be:-
o Responsible for adoption and management of the multi-cloud platforms
o Lead the path for cloud enablement globally for the OUR COMPANY
o Establish, enforce, and oversee the activities and guidelines across cloud providers
o Decide and implement the multi-cloud deployment approach, for example, container
orchestration, landing zone deployment, change management and security control for
providing resilient, secure and scalable solution
CORE FUNCTIONS
o Accountable for ensuring all OUR COMPANY multi-cloud platforms are aligned to meet requirements
from Business, Technology function, Company Compliance, Regulators and Governments
requirements in all our markets
o Understand the cloud platforms solution and rollout landing zones
o Collaborates with IT team members to establish new best practices for multi-cloud
orchestration and security controls
o Design and implement solutions to continuously deliver an enterprise software system
hosted in Kubernetes.
o Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources using industry standard tools and
technologies.
o Build, manage and operate the infrastructure and configuration of various components and
tools that manage the software development lifecycle with a strong focus on automation
and infrastructure as code
o Being a dependable and highly skilled development resource for peers through education
and review.
o Having a broad awareness of related projects and industry trends and encourages innovative
practices amongst peers.
o Advocates and models coding and collaboration practices, reviews team code, and provides
team members with feedback and suggestions for process improvement
o Evaluate the multi-cloud platform solutions in the market in terms of price, speed to market,
complexity, time to learning, distance to the cloud native stage (microservices and K8S),
technology advantages & industrial use cases and select the correct multi-cloud solution
suitable to the OUR COMPANY tech strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
o 5+ years of experience in strategic organizational planning, preferably in a technology
services
o Evidence of a breadth of knowledge across IT, especially cloud services
o Demonstrated experience with building unique software supporting systems to create
Intellectual Property value for a client.
o Demonstrable experience with Data Analysis methodologies, tools, and technologies
o Demonstrable experience software and enterprise design patterns
o Demonstrable experience with Cloud based technology and services
o Demonstrable experience with container and container orchestration technologies.
o Strong knowledge of service management lifecycle from development to retirement
o Ability to communicate and understand technical infrastructure and architecture concepts
o Knowledge of service provider ecosystem / industry leading service practices
o Strong practical Linux- and Windows-based system administration skills in a cloud or
virtualization environments
o Experience building sophisticated and highly automated infrastructure
o Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management
o Understanding and experience with tagging
