Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Legacy System Support

• Design the software application based on architecture and requirements (design packages, design subsystems, ).

• Index Optimization: Review and fine-tune all indexes in current databases to ensure optimal performance.
• Database Cleanup: Identify and remove unused tables and objects to streamline the database environment.
• Support & Troubleshooting: Assist the customer and project team with database activities such as developing complex SQL queries, generating data or cloning databases for SIT/UAT purposes, and investigating and correcting data in the production environment.
• Performance Monitoring: Track, monitor, and analyze performance and production issues, implementing improvements as necessary.
• Data Solutions Enhancement: Provide guidance to improve and enhance data solutions for better performance

2. New System Development & Implementation:

** Project Planning:

• Workstream Planning: Participate in workstream planning, including technical design, development, testing, and delivery of BI solutions.
• Workflow Management: Develop and manage work plans or review timelines to ensure project milestones are met.
• Project Estimation: Participate in project management estimation processes.

** Business Requirement Analysis:

• Requirement Translation: Analyze business and functional requirements, converting them into technical specifications for database solutions.
• Customer Collaboration: Work with Business Analysts (BAs) and customers to understand their needs and translate these into robust, scalable, and operable database solutions.

3. Development & Implementation:

• Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, analyze, and share data to drive improvements in key business metrics, customer experience, and overall business results.
• Data Warehouse Planning: Plan, create, coordinate, and deploy Data Warehouses (DWH).
• Data Architecture & Modeling: Develop data architecture, data modeling, and data mapping solutions within structured DWH environments.
• ETL Development: Develop and implement ETL jobs/data pipelines according to the DWH design and architecture.
• Reporting & Consistency: Develop reporting applications and ensure consistency within the data warehouse.
• Lifecycle Support: Support the development and validation through the lifecycle of the DWH and Business Intelligence systems, maintain user connectivity, and ensure adequate security for the data warehouse.

4. Production Support

• BI Tools & Systems Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software to resolve issues.
• Data Load Inconsistencies: Investigate and correct data load or reconciliation inconsistencies in conjunction with site teams

5. Customer Service

• Communication: Keep customers informed about business intelligence tool problems and resolutions.
• Issue Tracking & Reporting: Track and report on issues and enhancement requests in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Ad Hoc Reporting: Work closely with customers to create ad hoc reports that support timely business decisions and project work.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a DBA, with strong expertise in both legacy and modern systems.
• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in database design, performance tuning, and optimization in complex environments.
• Hands-on experience with data architecture, data modeling, ETL development, and BI systems.
• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, PL/pgSQL scripting languages, and ETL tools.

• Strong understanding of database management systems, including SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with cloud-based databases (Azure SQL, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with BI tools and data warehouse concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice to have:

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud-based databases and modern BI tools.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools related to database automation (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
