We are seeking a backend developer responsible for designing, building and maintaining TypeScript/Node.js services that support a training platform.

This is your job:

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using TypeScript, Node.js (NestJS) and PostgreSQL.
• Work within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and containerized/orchestrated environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members on architecture, code reviews and technical refinements.

In addition, all team members share the following standing responsibilities under the RFP's Service Scope:

• Be online, accessible and responsive during core working hours, 08:00–17:00 CET/CEST.
• Actively participate in technical and non-technical team discussions, sprint ceremonies and planning.
• Produce high-quality code following agreed within team conventions (naming, folder structure, formatting, security).
• Maintain test coverage above 80% (unit, integration, API and E2E tests) for all new functionality, including edge cases such as rollback.
• Raise pull requests for every feature and address review comments through the release tool.
• Fulfil the team's Definition of Done for every backlog item before closure.
• Rotate through the Supporter of the Sprint duty (and its backup) — triage and resolve incidents/bugs/questions raised during the sprint, maintain PBIs with meaningful status updates, and hand over cleanly to the next supporter.
• Participate in the on-call rotation where assigned after 6th month — be reachable by phone/SMS within 15 minutes and ready to work within 30 minutes, including weekend refresh windows; document incidents (timeline, actions, resolution, next steps).
• Maintain up-to-date technical and process documentation (e.g., Confluence) for any breaking change, new API, or architectural update.
• Keep ticket status current at least every other day while work is in progress.
• Communicate proactively: flag blockers early, report absences/out-of-office in the calendar, and collaborate across teams and disciplines (T-shaped skills encouraged).
• Rotate through the Supporter of the Sprint duty (and its backup) — triage and resolve incidents/bugs/questions raised during the sprint, maintain PBIs with meaningful status updates, and hand over cleanly to the next supporter.
• Maintain up-to-date technical and process documentation (e.g., Confluence) for any breaking change, new API, or architectural update.

Your qualifications:

• Proven working experience in TypeScript with Node.js (NestJS) and PostgreSQL.
• Working experience with GitHub (push/pull/merge workflows), Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience operating in large-scale datacenter/cloud/network environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related technical/science field.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with Dynatrace, PowerShell or similar tooling.

General Requirements

• Bulgaria; available for on-site meetings in Sofia at least every second week.
• Fluent in English and Bulgarian.
• Experience with public cloud providers, preferably GCP (AWS/Azure also acceptable).
• Minimum ~4 years of relevant experience, commensurate with the assigned seniority level.
• Agile mindset — comfortable working in a trust-based, empowered, continuously-learning Scrum environment.
