SEO Team Lead
About the job SEO Team Lead
Location: DHA Phase 3, XX Block, Lahore, Pakistan
Workplace: On-site
Type: Full-time
Hours: Mon–Fri, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (PKT)
About the role
Own a portfolio of client accounts end to end — set the strategy, do a real share of the work yourself, and lead a small team (3–8) that handles the rest. You're on the calls, in the crawl reports, and accountable for whether a client renews or walks.
What you'll own
- Client relationships — Run the calls yourself; explain cause and next steps in plain language; set realistic expectations upfront; defend the strategy under pressure without hiding behind "algorithm update"; write the monthly narrative (team pulls numbers); flag upsells and scope creep to leadership; know each client's business (margins, sales cycle, lead value), not just their site.
- Technical SEO — Crawl audits (Screaming Frog/Sitebulb); log file analysis, crawl budget, indexation; JS rendering, hydration, headless/SPA; Core Web Vitals (what moves the metric, not just Lighthouse); end-to-end migrations (redirect mapping, staging QA, post-launch monitoring); schema/entity markup, hreflang, canonicals, pagination, faceted nav; purposeful internal linking; dev tickets that get accepted first time.
- On-page & semantic — Topical maps and entity-based content models (not volume-sorted keyword lists); SERP and intent analysis; information gain vs the top ten; content audits (refresh, merge, prune, kill) with data to back the calls; briefing and editing writers so output ranks and still reads human.
- Off-page — Digital PR and genuine link acquisition (campaigns, outreach, publisher/journalist relationships); anchor text and link velocity analysis; spotting truly toxic profiles and knowing when a disavow is warranted; vetting vendors critically; brand and unlinked mentions.
- GEO — Prompt-space research (what buyers actually ask AI tools); citation and share-of-voice tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini; structuring content/data so models can cite it (clean answer blocks, dense factual writing, consistent entity signals); working off-site surfaces (Reddit, YouTube, review sites, directories, Wikidata); consistent brand/product descriptions everywhere; honesty about what GEO measurement can and can't show; constant testing.
- Team — Assign, review, and send work back; QA everything before it ships; plan capacity and push back on overcommits; train juniors; build and maintain SOPs, checklists, and QA steps; give direct feedback and address underperformance early.
Requirements
- 4+ years in SEO, including 1–2 years leading people or owning client relationships.
- Agency background preferred (comfortable running five to eight accounts).
- Results you can walk through in detail — situation, action, outcome, and what you'd change (expect follow-up questions).
- Real GEO exposure; if not formal campaigns, show your own testing and tracking.
- Fluent with GSC, GA4, Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog, and at least one AI-visibility tracking tool.
- HTML basics and a working understanding of how dev teams operate.
- Strong written and spoken English (daily strategy docs and client emails); confident with spreadsheets and data.
Not the right fit if
You run one playbook on every client; let tools do the thinking; can't open Screaming Frog; think GEO is just SEO renamed; say yes to unrealistic demands to avoid a hard conversation; build links by volume without judgment; or need to be chased for updates.
