General Description
1) Develops and maintains quality methodologies, systems, and practices to meet the Customers needs.
2) Support quality engineering tasks from program inception through 90 days post SOP, including; contract review,
product design reviews, develop receiving inspection plans, develop process capability review in a manufacturing setting, manufacturing process approval, determine customer approval needs, support scrap and rework reduction efforts, and customer corrective action requests.


Key Roles and Responsibilities
1) Work closely with test and process engineers during pre-production to improve reliability
2) Support the development and implementation of new product manufacturing processes and validation
3) Responsible for identifying critical characteristics during the initial design phase & implementation of check methods in assembly process
4) Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internally utilizing and sharing prior experience in product realization and lessons learned
5) Evaluation of new products, design improvements, processing, and cost reduction efforts
6) Support customer and internal design reviews
7) Support all customer meetings & deadlines as required to meeting program timing/requirements
8) Provide in-depth product and process knowledge to all related departments
9) Champion APQP process (PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow etc)
10) Support Customer / Supplier PPAP activities
11) Perform and analyze failure analysis / Prevention (poke yoke implementation)
12) Regularly check, update, answer inputs on Customer Portals (GQTS, Covisint, G3PS, GPIRS)


Job Requirements
Work Experience
1) 1+ years in automotive manufacturing environment or in a Quality related background
2) Thorough knowledge and experience with validation requirements & processes
3) Ability to review and analyze technical specifications and requirements
4) PFMEA/CP/Process Flow Generation Experience
Education
1) Bachelors degree in Engineering focusing heavily in electronics, or equivalent experience
2) Experience with validation standards, specifications, and OEM requirements
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
1) Thorough knowledge of ANSI GD&T principles and applications
2) Thorough knowledge of measuring systems/tools (CMM, Comparator, Calipers, micrometers, etc)
3) Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer skills.
4) Ability to navigate in a drawing/CAD program
5) Thorough knowledge of Quality systems and procedures.
6) Must work well in a team environment and/or independently.
7) Thorough knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting or root cause analysis methodologies
8) Ability to lead and direct Quality initiatives.
