About the job Senior Estimator

How will you contribute to the team?
-Examines blueprints and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates. 

-Performs accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.
-Leads the development of conceptual and feasibility cost model estimates utilizing historic benchmarking information and industry experience to develop complete early-stage cost estimate forecasting.
-Obtains accurate and up to date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.
-Inputs estimate takeoff information for specific disciplines and develops unit cost pricing.
-Works with architects and engineers to develop clear understanding of project scope during
-preparation of estimate.
-Reviews and finalizes estimate unit cost pricing to reflect current market conditions and specific project logistics.
-Reviews historic benchmark cost information and highlights variances.
-Assists senior management in ways to make projects more efficient. Seeks ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks.
-Maintains and updates a data library of costs in WinEst.
-Prepares cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explains variance cost drivers.
-Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
-Complexity: Work involves complex or novel assignments requiring diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. Work requires the use of advanced
techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices.
-Decision-making: Many assignments are performed collaboratively with input from multiple stakeholders. 

-Makes sound judgements on technical problems and methods.

What will you contribute?
-Bachelors degree in construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, plus five years of relevant experience.
-Must have experience in estimating for energy and utilities industry. 

-Must have intermediate working knowledge in WinEst and working knowledge of electronic takeoff including CAD Measure.
-Must be highly articulate, have a clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and possess strong decision-making abilities. -Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
-Requires knowledge of local construction market in area of operation including pricing conventions and trends.

-Requires ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from
limited information using local historic cost information.
