Job Description:

The Business Analyst will perform advanced business analysis and user experience design to deliver effective, user-focused solutions. This role ensures design decisions align with industry best practices, agency standards, and research-driven principles. Acting as the link between stakeholders and the development team, the Business Analyst will be engaged throughout the software development life cycle, from gathering requirements to post-implementation enhancements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analysis: Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business and technical requirements from stakeholder interviews
  • Design: Create wireframes, mockups, and user experience workflows that follow best practices and meet user needs
  • Process Improvement: Conduct business process re-engineering and recommend solutions to improve efficiency
  • Development Support: Assist in defining user stories and use cases that align with established analysis standards
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee requirements through all stages of the software development life cycle, including post-implementation updates
  • Collaboration: Partner with product teams, stakeholders, and customers to align solutions with project goals
  • Communication: Facilitate discussions, lead meetings, and ensure clear, concise communication across teams

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Requirements Gathering: 8+ years eliciting requirements from customers and preparing detailed documentation
  • SDLC: 8+ years working through all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Process Optimization: 8+ years improving processes through business process re-engineering
  • User Stories: 8+ years creating user stories and use cases aligned with best practices
  • UX Design: 8+ years producing wireframes and mockups based on UX standards
  • Facilitation: 5+ years leading meetings, workshops, or collaborative sessions
  • Writing: 5+ years producing clear, organized, and well-structured documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Requirements Tools: Experience with Modern Requirements software
  • Tracking Tools: Experience with Atlassian Jira
  • Public Sector: Experience working in or with a state or local education agency
  • Programs: Experience supporting Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) initiatives
