Job Openings Division President

About the job Division President

Our client is a leading payments technology company that has spent many years growing into one of North America's largest independent merchant acquirers, helped along by a series of strategic acquisitions. They are seeking a Division President to bring several separately operated businesses together into one organization, with full P&L accountability. This leader is responsible for integrating operations under a shared commercial strategy, strengthening sales execution, and improving profitability.

The role includes leading a business transition while positioning the organization for continued expansion.

What You Will Do

  • Own P&L performance, establishing revenue and margin targets and holding leaders accountable for results.
  • Lead the integration and repositioning of existing businesses, aligning commercial priorities and operations while retaining specialized brands where they provide market value.
  • Develop and execute a transition plan with clear milestones for consolidating operations and improving financial performance.
  • Review financial statements and operating reports to assess progress, identify performance gaps, and adjust business plans.
  • Consolidate systems and simplify workflows to reduce costs and improve service delivery.
  • Establish a unified sales and channel strategy, reducing internal competition across overlapping merchant portfolios and distribution relationships.
  • Strengthen sponsor bank relationships and align BIN capacity with target merchant segments and underwriting requirements.
  • Lead sales leadership in developing prospecting plans, acquiring new clients, and expanding existing relationships.
  • Work with risk and underwriting leaders to evaluate additional merchant categories, constructively challenge existing restrictions, and support expansion within agreed risk parameters.
  • Oversee profitable pricing strategies and their implementation within quoting tools.
  • Coordinate with shared corporate functions to resolve operational barriers and establish clear ownership of decisions.
  • Ensure business practices meet applicable industry regulations, card network requirements, and company policies.
  • Partner with product and technology teams to prioritize enhancements based on merchant needs and commercial opportunities.
  • Direct marketing and industry event participation to support market expansion and partner development.
  • Develop the leadership team and establish a shared culture with clear expectations and accountability.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in merchant acquiring, payment processing, or specialized fintech.
  • At least five years of experience in high-risk payments or specialized operating environments.
  • Experience owning a P&L and delivering measurable revenue growth and margin improvement.
  • Demonstrated success integrating businesses or brands and aligning overlapping sales and banking channels.
  • Deep understanding of sponsor bank relationships, BIN structures, card network requirements, and high-risk underwriting.
  • Experience leading sales organizations and developing profitable distribution partnerships.
  • Strong financial judgment, including experience assessing operating performance and making pricing and resource decisions.
  • Experience leading organizational change within a business supported by shared corporate functions.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills, with the ability to gain alignment across competing priorities.
  • Sound judgment when balancing commercial opportunities with risk requirements.
