Our client is a leading sponsor bank providing banking infrastructure, compliance, and payment capabilities to financial technology companies. They are seeking a VP, Director of Payments Implementation to lead the implementation and ongoing support of payment infrastructure for fintech partners, including debit and credit card programs, RTP, FedNow, ACH, and wires. This role oversees payment systems administration, partner implementations, core system configuration, operational controls, and compliance across the payments environment. The position will work across fintech partners, card networks, processors, program managers, internal teams, and technology providers to ensure payment programs are implemented and operated accurately and in accordance with applicable requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of payment capabilities for fintech partners, including BIN sponsorship, debit and credit card programs, RTP, FedNow, ACH, and wires.
  • Oversee payment systems administration, core systems controls, deposit quality assurance, operational controls, remediation, and deposit system administration as they relate to fintech partners.
  • Manage digital and non digital payment channels, including check processing, ACH, wires, mobile deposits, Visa and Mastercard rails, and instant payments, ensuring compliant processing of payments and disputes.
  • Lead the implementation of new payment types and changes to the deposit account product suite, including new Treasury Management products and services.
  • Partner with Treasury Management to onboard new clients and develop supporting operational procedures.
  • Manage relationships with card networks and establish partner entitlements based on program requirements.
  • Oversee payment processors and program managers to ensure adherence to applicable card network rules.
  • Manage reconciliation across card networks, payment processors, and subledger systems.
  • Oversee digital deposit account opening operations in coordination with Retail Product Management.
  • Ensure core and related systems are configured according to business requirements and accounts are established accurately.
  • Maintain knowledge of new core system capabilities, support internal adoption, and collaborate with vendors on solution development.
  • Oversee quality control across card network drawdowns, account openings and closings, and transactions, including remediation of identified inconsistencies.
  • Serve as the primary deposit and payment operations contact for core banking and related technology providers, managing vendor relationships and overseeing system purchases and upgrades.
  • Manage operational policies, procedures, controls, bank disclosures, and forms.
  • Lead operational audits and serve as a subject matter expert during regulatory exams and related departmental audits.
  • Manage department operations, budgets, and business continuity planning, and provide backup coverage for Team Leads.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and internal operational risk controls.

What You Bring

  • Experience implementing and supporting payment infrastructure and payment programs for fintech partners.
  • Experience with payment rails and programs including debit and credit cards, RTP, FedNow, ACH, and wires.
  • Experience with card networks, payment processors, program managers, BIN sponsorship, and card network requirements.
  • Knowledge of payment processing, disputes, reconciliation, operational controls, and payment systems administration.
  • Experience with deposit operations, core system administration, system configuration, and operational quality control.
  • Experience managing operational policies, procedures, audits, regulatory exams, business continuity planning, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing teams, department operations, budgets, vendors, and technology relationships.
  • Residing in the Eastern or Central Time Zone.
