Description
The Catering Sales Manager at Hilton Penn’s Landing is responsible for developing market segments, soliciting new customers, and executing events with food and beverage and event facilities in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. This is a rare opportunity to sell and execute Catering events at Philadelphia’s only Waterfront Hotel. It's a seller's dream with over 24,000 square feet of fabulous event space.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Catering Sales experience, a positive can-do attitude, passion for service and creativity with superior written and verbal communication skills. We are a fun, collaborative team looking for a self-motivated person to join us and grow their career with Pyramid Hotel Group.
Specifically, the Catering Sales Manager would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Represent the hotel through preparing proposals and other external sales presentations to groups and prospective customers to solicit, explain, negotiate, and close catering business.
- Meet with and entertain customers, conduct property tours, participate in tradeshows, industry and community events to promote facilities and services and close deals.
- Utilize discretion and authority to negotiate contracts to maximize revenue and profitability with customers and vendors.
- Manage all aspects of the customer relationship including responding to customer inquiries, drafting proposals and contracts.
- Organizing arrangements for social and corporate events including the set-up and execution.
- Direct and collaborate logistics to all other affected departments and team members also responsible for event execution.
- Provide consultation to customers to ensure we create unforgettable experiences within budget.
- Creatively design and detail menus and events to maximize revenue and event experience.
- Coordinate with Director of Catering in formal planning for and execution of significant events at the hotel.
- Prepare and present catering weekly reports as required by Director of Catering.
Requirements
The Catering Sales Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our clients and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, the following requirements must be met:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably specializing in Hospitality, Food & Beverage and or equivalent experience is required.
- 3+ years of Catering Sales and Events execution experience
- 2+ year of hotel experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience with executing events in spaces of 20K square feet or more
Preferred:
- Hilton experience
- Delphi/Salesforce experience
- Event Execution experience
