Job Openings Estimating Manager - National Builder

About the job Estimating Manager - National Builder

Are you an experienced Estimating Manager looking to step into a leadership role with a national builder that values accuracy, teamwork, and genuine collaboration? This established residential builder operates across multiple states and continues to grow steadily, with a strong Brisbane base and a supportive, down-to-earth culture that feels more local than corporate.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a structured environment but enjoys the variety that comes with managing large volumes of work. You will lead a small, capable estimating team and oversee the accuracy, flow, and efficiency of projects from contract through to site. The focus is on leadership, systems thinking, and ensuring the estimating function runs like clockwork across a national framework.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and develop a local and overseas team of estimators, setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability

  • Oversee BOQs, estimates, and purchase orders to ensure precision and consistency

  • Review plans, specifications, and variations to ensure cost accuracy across all projects

  • Manage supplier and trade pricing databases to maintain cost integrity nationally

  • Collaborate with interstate teams to align estimating processes and documentation standards

  • Identify opportunities to streamline systems, reduce rework, and improve cross-team communication

  • Support the leadership team in forecasting, reporting, and operational improvement initiatives

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience in residential estimating within a project home or volume building environment

  • Prior experience leading or mentoring a small team

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities

  • Proficiency with Databuild, Onsite Companion, or BuildSoft (or similar estimating software)

  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to make decisions and support others in doing the same

  • A focus on accuracy, structure, and continuous improvement of systems and workflow

If you are looking to join a company with the resources of a national builder but the culture of a local team, this is an ideal opportunity. You will be supported by experienced leadership, enjoy autonomy in your work, and have the chance to make your mark on an expanding operation.
