Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the design team by fostering a collaborative and productive environment and addressing any conflicts that may arise
- Ensure design decisions are strategically aligned with business goals and objectives, demonstrating the measurable impact of design on organizational success
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, business development, and executives, to ensure smooth integration of design, product, and technical requirements.
- Understand business requirements like a business analyst, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client needs.
- Conduct research on businesses and create requirement documentation to guide design processes.
- Perform design pre-processing activities such as brainstorming with designers, creating rough sketches, and structuring ideas.
- Monitor the quality of design deliverables, conduct over-the-shoulder testing, and ensure adherence to project standards.
- Do workload management, and timely delivery of projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Provide timelines and hours estimates to clients while ensuring realistic project scoping.
- Have an understanding of CMS limitations to ensure designs are both functional and feasible for development.
- Facilitate client communication, including taking meetings, presenting updates, and delivering status reports.
- Collaborate on meeting updates, maintaining transparency and accountability within the team and for clients.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and design practices, fostering innovation and creativity within the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 6-7 years of experience in UX/UI design or a related leadership role, including team management and project delivery.
- Proven ability to align design decisions with business objectives and demonstrate their impact.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including workload management, and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate design concepts and present solutions to clients and stakeholders.
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration and client communication, including meeting facilitation and update preparation.
Good to Have Skills/Competencies
- Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and other industry-standard design software.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, design systems, and accessibility standards.
- Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics and heatmaps to inform design decisions through data.
- Familiarity with usability testing and feedback loops for continuous improvement in design solutions. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex design challenges with innovative solutions.
