That's why we're partnering with a dynamic international industrial group to find a Profitability Controller to join their growing Shared Service Center in Sofia and drive margin improvement and global procurement savings.

About the Role:

As a Profitability Controller you will take full ownership of two critical areas: end‑to‑end profitability of one concrete business category as well as global cost‑savings program across both - direct and indirect purchasing. In close collaboration with executive leadership and international teams, you will drive margin enhancement, oversee implementation of initiatives, and secure long-term cost improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run a complete cost and margin review for a specific product category (materials, labor, overhead, SG&A expences) and pinpoint items that are low‑margin or losing money.
  • Prepare and present detailed profitability reports and recommend actionable margin improvement measures.
  • Lead and coordinate the global purchasing savings program: collect, validate and track initiatives across plants/ offices; ensure timely execution; consolidate and report savings to senior management.
  • Monitor vendor performance, license/ utilization and contract renewals; identify and escalate risks and delays.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives (license optimization, contract consolidation, demand bundling) and promote cost awareness and accountability across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Purchasing, Sales, Operations and Legal to align commercial and technical solutions.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration or related.
  • Proven experience in cost controlling/financial analysis/purchasing/operations (manufacturing/automotive preferred).
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; advanced Excel (pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
  • Hands‑on data analysis: transform data into actionable insights; experience with ERP/SAP and AI tools is a plus.
  • Solid budgeting and financial principles knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; experience with senior leadership.
  • High ownership, results‑oriented, able to work under pressure and manage priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management, cross‑functional influence and confident escalation.
  • Fluent English; German or other languages advantageous.
