Lease Accounting Specialist

That's why we're partnering with a a leading global organization in the chemical and manufacturing industry to find a Lease Accounting Specialist for their evolving Shared Service Center in Sofia.

About the Role:

As a Lease Accounting Specialist, you will manage end-to-end lease accounting activities within a Shared Service Center environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining lease data integrity, and supporting compliance with IFRS and internal control frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage lease contracts, documentation, and master data within the lease accounting system
• Perform lease classification and accounting in line with IFRS 16/ASC 842 requirements
• Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end closing
• Maintain and validate lease calculations, including IBR updates and system outputs
• Support audit processes and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies
• Prepare lease reports and contribute to financial and regulatory reporting
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy of lease data
• Support system improvements, testing, and process optimization initiatives

Who We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting/finance, including exposure to lease accounting
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 16/ASC 842 lease accounting standards
• Experience with SAP and/or Lease Accounting Systems (e.g. Lease Accelerator)
• Strong Excel skills and analytical mindset
• Experience in SSC environments is an advantage
• Fluent in English
