Job Title: Electrical Engineer (MEP)

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer (MEP) is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems in buildings, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. They work closely with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure that all electrical systems are designed and installed to the required quality standards, and that they meet all safety and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including lighting, power, and fire alarm systems, for buildings and construction projects.
  • Ensure that all electrical systems are designed to the required quality standards, and that they meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure that all electrical systems are installed and commissioned properly.
  • Oversee the procurement process for electrical equipment and materials, ensuring that they meet the required standards and that they are delivered on time.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that all electrical systems are installed properly and that they meet the required quality standards.
  • Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, and other documentation, ensuring that they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage project budgets and expenses, ensuring that all costs are properly documented and accounted for.
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are kept up-to-date on project progress, through regular reports and meetings.
  • Provide technical support to other engineers and contractors, ensuring that they have the necessary information and support to complete their work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems design and installation, including lighting, power, and fire alarm systems.
  • Familiarity with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and other relevant tools.
