Job Title: Director of Construction - Hotel
Job Summary:
The Director of Construction for a hotel is responsible for overseeing the construction process of a hotel from start to finish, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. The Director of Construction will work closely with the hotel development team and other stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure that the construction process runs smoothly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning and execution of hotel construction projects, ensuring that all work is completed within the required time frame and budget.
- Manage the project team, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, and ensure that they are all working towards the same goals.
- Develop and maintain project timelines and schedules, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Ensure that all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring that costs are controlled and kept within the approved limits.
- Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process, and make changes to plans as necessary.
- Communicate regularly with the hotel development team and other stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress and any issues that arise.
- Review and approve all construction-related documentation, including contracts, plans, and specifications.
- Coordinate with hotel operations teams to ensure a smooth handover of the completed hotel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in hotel construction, with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Experience in managing large construction projects, with a good understanding of the construction process and building codes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Proficiency in construction project management software and other relevant tools.
