JOB SUMMARY
The Safety Officer 2 is responsible for the effective implementation and monitoring of the company’s safety programs and adherence to national and internal safety standards. This role plays a critical function in fostering a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring full compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards as mandated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)and other relevant agencies. The Safety Officer 2 also leads initiatives in risk prevention, employee safety education, and safety-related incident response.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Safety Support
- Assist in executing OSH programs and daily safety protocols as directed by SO3.
- Conduct routine inspections of work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with internal safety standards.
- Monitor employee adherence to safety protocols and provide on-the-ground guidance.
- Serve as point-of-contact for basic safety concerns raised by staff.
Incident Assistance and Monitoring
- Support incident investigations led by SO3 by gathering data and witness accounts.
- Assist in documenting and tracking minor incidents, hazards, and corrective actions.
- Ensure availability and basic maintenance of safety supplies (e.g., PPE, signage).
Safety Training & Orientation
- Assist in delivering toolbox talks and short training sessions for specific teams.
- Support the HR team in onboarding by orienting new hires on basic safety rules and facility-specific practices.
Documentation & Compliance Support
- Maintain and update safety checklists, inspection forms, and training attendance sheets.
- Help ensure timely submission of safety documentation to SO3 for reporting.
- Keep a log of minor repairs or issues observed during safety checks.
Coordination and Back-up Duties
- Collaborate closely with SO3 in implementing safety campaigns and drills.
- Act as backup for the SO3 during absences or high-volume safety periods.
- Participate in Safety Committee activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field; Technical or Engineering course is a plus.
Experience:
- At least one (1) year of experience in occupational safety.
- Proven involvement in safety-related initiatives and programs.
Technical Skills
- BOSH or COSH certification (SO2 level required).
- Knowledge of OSH laws, hazard control, and workplace inspections.
- Experience in writing safety reports and policies.
- Familiarity with risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Basic skills in safety data analysis and compliance reporting.

Work Set-Up:
On-site. Primary assignment is at Antipolo and/or Marikina, but the role may require occasional visits to other Dermorepubliq sites as needed for inspections, safety audits, or incident response. The Safety Officer 2 should be physically capable of performing site walkthroughs and carrying safety-related equipment or supplies weighing up to 15 kilograms (33 pounds).
