Position
The VoIP Engineer will have experience implementing and supporting telecom solutions. They must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and specialize in troubleshooting technical issues and independently solving problems, emphasizing root-cause resolutions and addressing the needs of clients and internal teams. The role includes but is not limited to implementing, configuring, upgrading, repairing, and troubleshooting VoIP systems and voice issues that arise in different networking environments.
Principle Functions
- Resolve communications escalations with an excellent personal touch; people first, technology second
- Troubleshoot issues with call quality, call routing, PBX configurations, system modules, firewalls, etc
- Provide network support for network administrators who are responsible for preparing networks for new implementations
- Configure and deploy PBX systems, SBCs, Firewalls, Backups, SMTP
- Contribute to SOPs, knowledge base, educating clients and staff, change processes, and more
- Maintain and upgrade existing systems, processes, monitoring, and backup solutions
Experience & Qualifications
- 2+ years of VoIP engineering experience, including installation and support
- Good comprehension of the SIP protocol
- Proficient with the Linux CLI
- Asterisk knowledge is a plus
- Strong comprehension of PBX/VoIP/Routing
- Good practical knowledge of Linux / proficient in the command line; Debian preferred
- Comfortable working in the LAMP stack
- Networking Comprehension
- Familiar with protocols like IPv4, TCP/UDP, VoIP, RTP, SIP, DHCP, DNS, CDP, LLDP, SSH, POE, SMTP, IGMP, QoS
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $80,000- 90,000 per year
