Tax Manager/Supervisor
We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager or Supervisor to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage the companys tax strategy, compliance, and reporting processes to ensure full compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. The Tax Manager will work closely with internal teams and external tax advisors to optimize tax positions and maintain the integrity of our tax filings. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the companys financial position. Analyze potential tax implications for new business initiatives.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns (including income, payroll, property, and sales taxes). Oversee tax-related audits and resolve tax issues promptly.
- Tax Reporting: Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
- Tax Research: Stay updated on current tax legislation and evaluate its impact on the company. Provide guidance and training to internal teams on new tax laws and compliance requirements.
Risk Management: Identify tax risks and implement internal controls to mitigate them. If applicable, ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with accounting, legal, and external tax consultants on various tax matters. Provide support for financial audits and manage relationships with tax authorities.
-Process Improvement: Lead efforts to improve tax processes, increase efficiency, and enhance reporting accuracy through automation and technology.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation is a plus.
-Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of tax experience, including experience in public accounting or corporate tax management. Experience with international tax is a plus.
