Position Summary

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent and Project Manager in

successfully completing assigned construction projects. This role assists with job site

safety, quality control, scheduling, field coordination, and communication with architects,

consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders regarding field and

constructability issues. Occasional travel is required. This position reports to the Project

Superintendent.

Essential Functions

Assist the Superintendent in managing job site safety, quality, and schedule from

pre-construction through closeout.

Support and promote company standards for quality and safety by actively

reinforcing BLOX's safety culture with project teams and subcontractors.

Collaborate effectively with the Project Manager, project team members, and field

personnel.

Represent BLOX in a professional manner with clients, consultants,

subcontractors, agencies, and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing the field team and project team in a successful and

collaborative manner.

Establish and maintain positive, effective relationships and communication with

the client, Construction Manager, project team, consultants, architects,

engineers, subcontractors, adjacent community members, trade unions, and

governmental agencies.

Assist with job site logistics, field coordination, and project scheduling.

Participate in reviewing project documents for constructability and content,

including shop drawings.

Maintain and update project records, including RFIs, ASIs, and as-builts.

Assist with creating and enforcing a site-specific emergency action plan in

collaboration with the Project Manager.

Coordinate subcontractors and field activities.

Coordinate building inspections, subcontractor inspections, and agency

inspections.

Perform daily job site walks with the Superintendent and submit daily safety audit

reports.

Conduct and/or attend foreman meetings, pre-task meetings, safety meetings,

and project staff meetings.

Assist with managing job site manpower, production, and performance.

Use project management and scheduling software effectively.

Attend company and industry events, including meetings, training, and

workshops.

Perform other related duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Foreman or in an equivalent construction

role.

Degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.

Strong understanding of the construction industry, job site safety requirements,

planning and scheduling, building trades, sequence of work, self-preform labor,

and relevant technology.

Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

Key competencies include initiative, communication, teamwork, dependability,

and sound judgment.

Technical skills include Procore, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.

loud.

The Assistant Superintendent is regularly required to:
