Senior Software Engineer

We have partnered with an Employee Owned global leader in power reliability products who is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team remotely. The ideal person will have a strong background in designing and developing embedded software for custom electronics. The Senior Software Engineer will report to the Manager of Embedded Software.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Designing and coding embedded application firmware for smart grid controls using the C language, implementing new product features, communication protocols, and device drivers.

• Participate in Agile Scrum meetings and peer reviews of source code, review and implement product requirements, create, execute, and automate Unit Tests, debug issues, and document design decisions.
• Investigate new technologies, provide project and task schedule estimates, collaborate with hardware and test engineers, and work with product management and field service teams to resolve customer issues promptly.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, ten years of relevant work experience
• Strong working knowledge of programming principles in C
• Experience with Microcontrollers and control systems theory
• Familiarity with Agile methodology fundamentals.

Additional Qualifications (Desired):

• Experience in Embedded Linux, LabVIEW, National Instruments Test Stand, C++, C#, Python, Java, CSS, HTML
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deploy (CI/CD) build familiarity.
• Knowledge of various hardware concepts.

Travel

• Occasional travel (less than 10%) to office locations may be required for development, system testing, and debugging purposes.
