The Payroll Officer is responsible for managing the payroll process, ensuring employees are compensated accurately and timely. This role involves maintaining payroll records, calculating wages, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Now, let us see how your typical workday looks like:
- Handle the monthly payroll execution in order to ensure that all the payments will be settled effectively, accurately, correctly, and in a timely manner
- Generate reports for management, such as payroll summaries, overtime reports, and other relevant documentation
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Operate and manage payroll software and systems
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Prepare and submit necessary payroll reports to relevant authorities
- Update employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and deductions.
- Collects and analyses payroll related data such as overtimes, shifts, maternity leaves, advance payments, vacations planning and other payroll components.
- Creates and submits all required documentation for relevant authorities (e.g. ERGANI-SEPE, Social Insurance Institute (IKA), Tax authorities) in order to ensure that Company remains compliant with labor and internal policies
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues
- Provide support during payroll audits and contribute to process improvements
The skills and competencies for this role are:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or payroll position
- Good knowledge of Greek legislation regarding payroll principles, laws, and regulations
- Fluency in English language - any additional foreign language skills are greatly appreciated
- Experience with ERPs and Payroll Platforms (Epsilon Net Pylon, SCAN, or similar software)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills
- Detail oriented skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
