Type: 12-Month Renewable Contract

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for enabling the data lifecycle within our Enterprise Data Services (EDS) department. This involves integrating data between source systems (golden/trusted) and target databases (LOB), ensuring the delivery of high-quality data through the application of appropriate frameworks and governance. This role is pivotal for supporting BI and advanced analytics requirements across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate data from various source systems into target databases, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Ab Initio for both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Apply data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborate with BI and advanced analytics teams to understand their data needs and provide suitable solutions.
  • Work with databases such as DB2, MS SQL, Netezza, and Oracle to manage and manipulate data.
  • Utilize UNIX and SQL for data processing and management tasks.
  • Implement and manage data solutions on the Azure Cloud platform.
  • Adopt and promote an Agile working approach within the team.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a self-starter attitude.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Data Warehousing Concepts: Knowledge and understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.
  • Ab Initio Development: Proven experience with Ab Initio development for on-premise and cloud environments.
  • UNIX and SQL: Proficiency in UNIX and SQL, with experience in databases like DB2, MS SQL, and Netezza.
  • Oracle: Exposure to Oracle database management.
  • Azure Cloud: Experience with data solutions on the Azure Cloud platform.
  • Agile Working Approach: Demonstrated ability to work in an Agile environment.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
