IT Operations Manager Opportunity!

Falling into the IT (Information Technology) Team of a leading Investment firm, where you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT operations function for a rapidly evolving company. The IT Operations Manager will under general direction manage team members within the IT Operations Team and is responsible for managing the organizations IT systems and IT operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to the following:

  • Ensures reliable day-to-day operations of technology infrastructure and application landscape, including data centre (on-prem, cloud and hybrid), networks, servers, endpoints, operational/client facing applications and services; troubleshoot and remediate issues that arise
  • Partner with the organisations Information Security team to implement and operationalize security controls
  • Input into annual IT budgets, review monthly spend and procure IT equipment and professional services in accordance with Procurement and Contracting Policy
  • Manage IT vendors, contracts and service level agreements
  • Identify and manage operational risks within the department
  • Align all operational activities to the Group Governance Framework
  • Responsible for managing the Application Support and Infrastructure teams
  • Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods
  • Responsible for the overall management of all the functions within the IT operations environment
  • Prepares and reviews service levels and KPI reports against defined metrics
  • Benchmarks, analyse, reports and makes recommendations for the improvement and capacity planning of the IT infrastructure and applications landscape
  • Manages the lifecycle of IT Infrastructure and application components from their investigative and implementation stages through to their decommissioning stages
  • Designs, implements, supports, updates and tests disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Attributes Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors or higher qualification in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 7+ years IT Infrastructure, IT Management, or IT Business Operations experience for an Asset Manager.
  • Experience in building relationships and working with a geographically dispersed third party vendors, including local and offshore entities
  • Experience in managing and monitoring cloud and SaaS platforms
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and server operating system

    • Proficiency in budget planning, monitoring expenditures, and procuring IT equipment and services. This includes aligning IT spending with organizational goals, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
