We are currently looking for a Senior Test Lead for our client in Parktown. The Test Lead will be instrumental in establishing and managing the testing function for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of SME testers, ensuring they are aligned with project goals and equipped to perform QA and acceptance testing effectively.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
  • Test Strategy and Planning:
    • Define and implement test strategies, plans, and processes tailored to project requirements and timelines.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to understand priorities and ensure alignment of testing activities with project goals.
  • Execution and Reporting:
    • Oversee the creation and execution of manual test cases, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional requirements and user stories.
    • Monitor test progress, coverage, and quality metrics, reporting findings to project stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment with project goals.
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement:
    • Implement effective QA processes and methodologies, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (development, product management, operations) to facilitate efficient delivery of high-quality products.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify risks related to testing activities and propose mitigation strategies, escalating issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
    • Champion the adoption of best practices, tools, and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within software testing, with a focus on manual testing methodologies.
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and techniques, preferably with certification such as ISTQB.
  • Experience in managing testing teams and coordinating testing activities across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA) and familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks, enhancing both manual and automated testing efforts.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, supporting efficient software delivery pipelines.
