Were looking for an experienced Java Specialist to join a Leading Banking Clients Payments Team and drive the future of banking innovation!

Role: Java Specialist Payments Team
Location: South Africa (with offshore collaboration)
Duration: Full-time

About the Role:

As part of the Harmonisation Programme within the Movements of Value Payments Team, youll be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting multiple technologies and integrations. You'll be at the forefront of modernisation efforts, working on high-impact projects that enhance client experiences and integrate with new platforms.

What We Need:

Information Technology Degree (or equivalent)
Azure Cloud Qualified
Java Qualified
10-15 years of experience
Leadership experience: guiding teams, mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, removing blockers, and aligning efforts with business goals
Technical Expertise:

• Microservices Architecture
• Azure AD & Azure Portal
• Java 17
  Experience in Project Delivery: leading teams to deliver innovative solutions
  Modernisation Projects: contribute to improving customer experience and integrating new platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a high-performing development team (10-15 developers, part of a larger team of 40+ based in South Africa and offshore)
Guide the design and development of microservices-based solutions on Azure
Provide technical guidance, ensuring alignment with business goals and modernisation strategies
Collaborate with engineering leads to overcome blockers and maintain smooth project delivery
