Are you an experienced Senior Financial Manager with a passion for financial leadership, operational excellence, and driving strategic business decisions? A leading bank in Sandton is seeking a highly motivated finance professional to join their team on a 12-month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic financial environment, partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver financial insights, strengthen governance, optimise asset-related financial performance, and support strategic decision-making across the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead consolidated financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls across multiple business functions.
  • Oversee asset maintenance financial management to ensure critical banking assets remain available, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate asset registers, financial records, depreciation schedules, and control information to support governance and financial reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and targets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve business performance.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, internal policies, procurement governance, and audit expectations.
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, Technology, Facilities, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders to support asset investment, replacement, maintenance, and disposal decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise asset lifecycle costs, improve operational efficiencies, standardise processes, and reduce unnecessary expenditure.
  • Prepare and present insightful financial reports, dashboards, and management information relating to asset performance, expenditure, risks, service levels, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support business continuity by ensuring effective financial processes, systems, and controls are in place.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and financial performance.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring service delivery against agreed service level agreements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring delivery against business objectives.


Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CA(SA), CIMA, or other relevant professional finance qualification will be advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in senior financial management within the Banking or Financial Services industry.
  • Strong experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial controls.
  • Experience managing asset-related financial processes, governance, and lifecycle management will be advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS, financial governance, regulatory compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Proven leadership experience managing high-performing finance teams.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
