Are you an experienced Senior Financial Manager with a passion for financial leadership, operational excellence, and driving strategic business decisions? A leading bank in Sandton is seeking a highly motivated finance professional to join their team on a 12-month contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic financial environment, partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver financial insights, strengthen governance, optimise asset-related financial performance, and support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead consolidated financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls across multiple business functions.
- Oversee asset maintenance financial management to ensure critical banking assets remain available, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate asset registers, financial records, depreciation schedules, and control information to support governance and financial reporting.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and targets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve business performance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, internal policies, procurement governance, and audit expectations.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, Technology, Facilities, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders to support asset investment, replacement, maintenance, and disposal decisions.
- Identify opportunities to optimise asset lifecycle costs, improve operational efficiencies, standardise processes, and reduce unnecessary expenditure.
- Prepare and present insightful financial reports, dashboards, and management information relating to asset performance, expenditure, risks, service levels, and improvement initiatives.
- Support business continuity by ensuring effective financial processes, systems, and controls are in place.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and financial performance.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring service delivery against agreed service level agreements.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring delivery against business objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- CA(SA), CIMA, or other relevant professional finance qualification will be advantageous.
- Extensive experience in senior financial management within the Banking or Financial Services industry.
- Strong experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial controls.
- Experience managing asset-related financial processes, governance, and lifecycle management will be advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS, financial governance, regulatory compliance, and audit requirements.
- Proven leadership experience managing high-performing finance teams.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
