Position Overview:
The Estimator/Project Manager will identify, estimate, oversee, and coordinate construction projects from start to finish. This role requires ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Estimator/Project Manager will work closely with various teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure the successful delivery of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead multiple construction projects, overseeing all phases from estimating to completion.
- Identify prospective project opportunities, estimating job costs, acquiring subcontractor and material vendor quotes
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure all resources are used effectively.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress and implement solutions to address any delays, cost overruns, or issues.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control, and project specifications.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns or issues.
- Approve project deliverables, including work completed by subcontractors and material purchases.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Prepare reports and updates for senior management on project performance, including financials, timelines, and key metrics.
- Negotiate and procure contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
- Drive continuous improvement in construction processes and project management practices.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience managing construction projects, preferably in excavation, site development, or utility installation.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Team-player mentality, with the willingness to work in conjunction with the entire management team
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Experience with HCSS Software, including HeavyBid and HeavyJob
- Proficiency in project management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
