Personal data collected by the firm relating to employment applications will be used in accordance with our Personal Information Collection Statement. By continuing to use this website and by providing any personal data (including sensitive personal data) to Deacons via this website or e-mail addresses provided on this website, you are consenting to Deacons’ use of your personal data and to the transfer of your data to third parties as necessary to progress your application, and, if your application is successful, to administer your personnel record. You acknowledge and agree that you will receive sensitive correspondence about the results of your application at the e-mail address that you have provided to Deacons via this website.
We work in a partnership with third party service providers (“TPSP”) to assist with our recruitment process and data processors. Our student and graduate recruitment application website is also powered by the TPSP in accordance with contractual arrangements in place with them. The TPSP will have access to your personal information. We encourage you to read their privacy policy. We are not responsible for any breach of their privacy policy or the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance by the TPSP.
For certain positions you will be subject to certain employee vetting checks as required by Deacons. Your application cannot progress unless the check is conducted. All information provided by you will be used only for employment related purposes. If your current application is not successful, Deacons may retain your personal data for a maximum period of two years and that the data may be retained for a longer period if there is a subsisting reason that obliges Deacons to do so, and Deacons may refer your application to other vacancies within the firm.
You also understand and agree that, should you be employed by Deacons, Deacons may retain your personal data for a maximum period of seven years from the date when your employment with Deacons ceases, provided that the data may be retained for a longer period if there is a subsisting reason that obliges Deacons to do so, or the data are necessary for Deacons to fulfil its contractual, legal or regulatory obligations.
